The September Reset: 4 Ways to Upgrade Your Office for the Year Ahead
September has a way of feeling like a second January. The kids are back at school, the summer schedule is over, and most offices see a natural bump in energy as everyone settles back into routine. It’s the perfect moment to look at your workspace — home or office — and ask what’s actually working, and what’s just been tolerated since March.
We’ve pulled together four practical upgrades for the season, each backed by a live manufacturer promotion, so you can refresh your setup without refreshing your whole budget!
1. Get your ergonomics right: Kensington SmartFit Monitor Arms
Desk setups drift over the summer — laptops perch on stacks of books, screens end up too low, and necks pay the price. A properly positioned monitor is one of the cheapest ergonomic fixes available: the display should sit at eye level, roughly an arm’s length away, so you’re not tilting your head down or craning forward for hours at a time.
The Kensington SmartFit range covers single and dual-monitor setups, with options for extension reach, height-adjustable one-touch arms, and vertical stacking for anyone running two screens in a tight footprint. SmartFit’s sizing system also means the arm is matched to your monitor’s actual weight and dimensions, rather than a generic “one size fits most” spec.

2. Sit less, move more: Leitz Ergo standing desks and active seating
The research on prolonged sitting is well established at this point — regular movement through the day supports circulation, posture, and energy levels far better than eight static hours in a chair. A sit-stand desk doesn’t mean standing all day; it means having the option to switch position when you need it.
The Leitz Ergo line covers the full range of how people actually work: electric sit-stand desks in small and compact sizes, desk converters for anyone not ready to replace a desk outright, and active seating — sitting balls, balance boards, and sit/stand stools — that keeps your core lightly engaged instead of letting you sink into a chair for hours.

3. Plan the year visually: Nobo Premium Plus Eco Whiteboards
Digital calendars are great for reminders; they’re not always great for seeing the shape of a whole quarter at a glance. A whiteboard in a shared space — team planning, project timelines, a simple “who’s out this week” board — still does something a shared calendar app doesn’t: it’s visible to everyone, all the time, without anyone needing to open an app.
The Nobo Premium Plus Eco range is worth a mention on the sustainability side too — it’s built with recycled steel and packaging, so a September office refresh doesn’t have to mean more landfill. Sizes run from compact 600x450mm boards up to 1800x1200mm, plus tripod and mobile easel options for teams that need a whiteboard to move between meeting rooms.

4. Clear the backlog: Rexel Momentum Extra shredders
Before the year gets busy, September is a good window to clear out the paper that’s been piling up since the last audit — old invoices, superseded contracts, anything with personal or financial data that shouldn’t just go in general recycling. Under GDPR, that’s not optional tidying; it’s part of how a business handles data responsibly.
The Rexel Momentum Extra range is built for exactly this kind of clearout, with cross-cut shredding for confidential documents and capacities that scale from a single desk to a shared office bin.
